Canterbury

This is a view of Canterbury Cathedral from Greyfriars Gardens. Here, the intensely coloured horizontal intervals of the gardens emphasise the vertical grandeur of the Cathedral.

From this viewpoint the Cathedral appears more "towering" than from more distance views or close ups. There seems to be an optimum distant of view for architecture depending on viewpoint, terrain and climatic conditions.

This painting is 76cm x 60cm and is acrylic on canvas
