David was born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England and educated there in the 1960s. Later, I was awarded a Honours Degree in Fine Art with Art History, at Falmouth School of Art in Cornwall, where his tutors included Patrick Heron and Terry Frost.
A teaching career in Lancashire and Dorset followed, during which time he continued to produce and exhibit his work. In 2001, he left the school environment to concentrate on his own work and take up a career lecturing on the History of Art for the Workers Education Association (WEA).
On the 20th July 2016 David passed away. Please take time to remember him as an artist, teacher and friend.
